We are
Trilitrate

Trilitrate is an audiovisual project that integrates the sound diversity of an acoustic trio joined to the video creation in real time of a multimedia artist.

A bit of history

The band submits each note to a rigorous process of distillation, dissolution and combination of its influences, blurring the existing lines between classical, ethnic music, contemporary, free improvisation, jazz, hardcore…

Trilitrate was formed in Vigo in 2012 by the violinist Elena Vázquez (Cuarteto Dumka, Peña, Fonogenia), Marcos Padrón on accordion (Orquestra O.M.E.Ga, Cuarteto Caramuxo) and by Rubén Abad on guitar and voice (Cró!, Es Un Árbol, Guerrera, Peña). In 2013 he joined the video artist Laura Iturralde, and made the recording of his first album: “Faláchesme na Man”. Praised by critics and public, it propels them to a frenetic 2014 and 2015 of festivals, performances and collaborations.

Their exuberant talent and originality culminated in the end of 2016 with the publication of “Frutal Death”, the band’s second full-length album. The four members have set out to fly over and then destroy each and every one of the styles, building a unique line, also seasoned by a wild feeling of independence.

Currently, and after the entry of Montse Piñeiro (Designer, illuminator and stop motion animator, María Casares award winner 2018 for best scenery and 2023 for best lighting) as the new creator of visual art, are embarked on the presentation of their third album “Está de Grelo”.

In this new and exciting work they immerse themselves in timbres as far from the acoustic world as electronics or black metal without abandoning their analog tools. They visit distant musical geographies such as the African or the Ottoman and pass the baroque and impressionist experience into the 21st century; fearless and unwavering in the search for new sonorities, reaching borders never crossed in this giant step of the group.
